Merchants can perform four different types of credit card transactions from the Transactions Datagrid. Additionally, merchants can choose to save the customer data from a transaction or perform a one-off transaction without saving customer data.

FUNDING

The Funding Datagrid enables users with the appropriate permissions to view the funding entries of an organization’s locations. By default, Dex displays the funding entries for the previous thirty days, but you can filter the displayed results by Effective DateBank Account NumberAmountFunding Source and/or Funding Status.

REPORTS

The self serve reporting module allows merchants to generate reporting on transaction and funding activities for a given time frame.  Merchants with the appropriate permissions can also export transactions to a .csv file that can then be stored on a local computer or imported into an accounting application for processing.

TYPES OF TOKENS

A token is a unique string ID that references stored customer information or a customer’s stored payment information (such as a credit card or an echeck). Tokens provide customers convenient, secure access to their billing, shipping, and payment information, making the checkout process faster and easier. For merchants, tokens provide a convenient method of collecting scheduled recurring payments.

Token Sharing

METHOD 1: Across Locations

Merchants who have multiple Locations within their Account can use Cross-Location token sharing to share customer and payment information across each of their Locations.  With Cross-Location token sharing, any member can walk into any Location of the merchant and have the exact same customer experience.

METHOD 2: Across Child Account

Companies that operate a marketplace or act as an aggregator may share their stored customer and payment information with a multitude of sellers who are set up with their own processing Merchant Account. In this scenario, Forte sets up a partner with a Partner Account and all of the partner’s sub-merchants are set up immediately below the partner within a hierarchy as “child” Merchant Accounts.

HOW IS CSG FORTE'S ACH SOLUTION BETTER THAN STRIPE?

CSG has been processing ACH payments since our inception and are recognized as a best in class preferred partner by NACHA for ACH validation. This aside, our ability to fund as soon as same day differentiates us from ACH who identifies up to 7 business days to reflect available funds in your bank account. Additionally Stripe requires the use of Plaid, a third party solution effectively driving up costs, to support validation of the customer banking information prior to being able to process ACH transactions. This creates additional development efforts as well as added latency to the process, where your transaction sale request to CSG Forte can incorporate a verification request in-line with an authorization request. While technically you can elect to use Stripe’s .js service instead of Plaid, the Stripe process requires 1-2 days simply to complete verification, then you still have to process the authorization request and wait the allotted 5-7 days for eventual (or potential) funding

WHAT DOES YOUR PARTNER SUPPORT LOOK LIKE IN COMPARISON TO STRIPE?

With CSG Forte we recognize not all merchants and partners are created equal, however that doesn’t mean because you are not an enterprise client that you won’t experience support needs like one which is why we at CSG Forte have account management representation even for our SMB or growing partner base. Not only will you have a dedicated account manager but you’ll also get access to our Solution Engineering team that are available to assist our Account Management team with integration enhancements, changes, or advise on new network rules and those downstream impacts to transaction processing and consult on workarounds or best practices.

HOW DO WE ACHIEVE SAME DAY ACH?

Forte has the ability to meet same day ACH funding needs. However there are account setup modifications required that we would need to administer and the transactions must be captured on our platform no later than 2:45 CT.

HOW DO WE GROW TO MANAGE MORE OF THE PAYMENTS LIEFCYCLE?

By partnering with CSGFORTE, you can take ownership of various steps of the payment lifecycle, as you grow. These are outlined here. Additionally, we have compiled some of the capital, relationship and resource requirements here.

HOW DO YOU MANAGE RETURNS?

CSG Forte supports ACH returns in a couple of ways that enable immediate insights prior to a rejection by the ODFI. Through a standard check against our “Known Bad Accounts” database that reviews previously returned accounts due to account closure, invalid account number or no account. This service is a fundamental feature of ACH processing with CSG Forte, and we provide immediate feedback to the customer alerting them to tender a different payment method. Additionally, through a subscription to our Validate product, CSG Forte provides deeper insights that review additional attributes of the account such as but not limited to: current NSF report, previous stop payments, and whether electronic debits are allowed on the account.  As a time and cost saver, implementation of our Direct Recovery solution provides a product intuitive service that resubmits transaction on behalf of your business for ACH transactions that were returned for insufficient funds. Returned transactions with NSF response code will be re-presented up to two times.
